MONO - Trees In Winter by Iris Rainey (8 marks)

There is most definitely an image within this subject of trees. However I found myself wanting as I searched for a focal point to allow me to rest a little and explore the image. The author has seen something here and captured this image but it just doesn’t show itself to me.
I find the muted tone and side lighting on the tree trunks adds definition but it then let down by the open sky on the right as there is no detail in the sky. It may have been preferable to crop this image into a square crop and leave out that area of sky. - Matthew
