MONO - Heron B&W by Mal Gribbon (15 marks)
Belfast Photo Imaging Club
I tend to find nature in mono has to be the right type of subject and I would be thinking mono as I took it. For me this doesn’t work, a Grey Heron doesn’t have the impact required. Good position in the frame but an ugly perch and poor light has made it grainy and grey (Contrast). Sue Sibley
A very appealing print full of subtle and varied tones, with fantastic texture on the heron itself and on the tree. The heron is presented as patient, almost like a statue in its stillness. - Judith
